Projects in 2010

Grants have been a major part of the School of Management`s (VŠM) activities - not so much in financial terms as in terms of building the University`s reputation. They testify to the fact that our university has become a reliable partner for institutions that award academic grants. The number of such institutions has been on the increase, which can be accounted for by the University`s accreditation for offering a doctor of philosophy degree in 2005. It is important to note that receipt of additional grants is, in part, greatly hindered by a number of legislative barriers that tend to place private universities at a disadvantage in comparison with public schools. We do believe that these obstacles will be removed in the near future so that scholarly and educational potential of our university could be increasingly realized.

In 2009, many of the School of Management`s (VŠM) faculty members were either leading grants or, at least, contributing to academic and research grants projects. The above applies to the following faculty members: Bill Bagatellas, M.A., Prof. Ing. Soňa Ferenčíková, PhD., Mgr. Miroslava Grešková, PhD., assoc. prof. Ing. Heda Hansenová, PhD., Prof. RNDr. Jozef Hvorecký, PhD., Prof. RNDr. Jozef Kelemen, DrSc., Ing. Ján Rebro, PhD., Matthias Suthe, M.B.A., assoc. prof. PhDr. Monika Šestáková, DrSc., mim. prof., Mgr. Jozef Šimúth, PhD., assoc. prof. Ing. M. Workie Tiruneh, PhD. Our faculty staff acted as members of editorial boards of academic and specialist journals; as well as working on national and international institutions, commissions and consulting groups.
