Instructional Materials

1. Instructional materials for IEP program are divided into two groups:

1. Course materials provided by the teacher; information will be given at the beginning of the trimester.
2. Course materials that students have to buy themselves: textbooks and workbooks available in bookstores (e-shops).

2. Textbooks for courses in Slovak language (Bc., Mgr.) 

1. Most of the textbooks are available as e-books.
2. The fee for e-textbooks is 19.00 € for three months.
3. To pay the fee, students should use the school's bank accounts.
4. With the e-textbooks fee payment, students gain access to the entire collection of textbooks.
5. The access to e-textbooks is online/offline after installing the application WK eReader (check if your device is supported).
6. The access is through an individual account. Instructions will be sent to a student's email.
7. Students themselves have to buy some textbooks not available as e-books and also the books for language courses.

3. Textbooks for courses in English (BSBA, Bc. programs)

1. The majority of the official titles required for our academic programs are expensive foreign textbooks usually difficult to obtain in Slovakia. Therefore, in order to ensure reliability of appropriate textbooks, CU/VŠM has introduced the Academic Resource Fee System. As a result, students are guaranteed a wide range of instructional material services, including textbooks, photocopied handouts, and other materials used in classes. Thus, the modest Academic Resource Fee reduces student expenses of learning materials since it prevents them from purchasing costly, up-to-date professional literature for each course on their own. The actual burden of procuring expensive foreign literature is transferred to the university's shoulders as the university purchases textbooks and lends them to students.
2. This "Instructional materials fee" is 8.00 EUR / course. The payment is obligatory. Proof of payment of the Academic Resource Fee must be presented at the time of registration.
3. To pay the fee in Euro, students should use the following bank accounts:
   Bratislava students: IBAN: SK85 7500 0000 0002 0286 1503 (see account details)
   Please put your date of birth or student's number as a variable symbol.
4. Textbooks are lent to students for the period of one trimester.
5. Textbooks are distributed from the library (a more detailed schedule can be found on bulletin boards at each site).
6. Students can pick up textbooks in person or they may ask to have books shipped (at their own expense - Slovakia only).
7. If a student does not return textbooks on time, he/she will be charged the amount of 5.00 EUR/book. With each additional trimester, the fine will be increased by the rental fee 8.00 EUR.
8. A student that does not return textbooks on time will not be allowed to borrow any additional textbooks.

4. Textbooks for courses in English (MBA, Mgr. programs)

1. For this program, we apply the same rules as in 3.1. and 3.3., except for some courses (free resources available on CU databases - check syllabi)
2. The "Instructional materials fee" is 17 EUR / course. The payment is obligatory. Proof of payment of the Academic Resource Fee must be presented at the time of registration. Please put your date of birth or student's number as a variable symbol.
3. Textbooks are lent to students for the period of the course.
4. Students can pick up textbooks in person or they may ask to have books shipped (at their own expense - Slovakia only).
5. If a student does not return textbooks on time, he/she will be charged the amount of 5.00 EUR/book. With each additional course period, the fine will be increased by the rental fee 17.00 EUR.
6. A student that does not return textbooks on time will not be allowed to borrow any additional textbooks.
