Application process - Incoming exchange students, staff OUTSIDE EU (KA171)

 

KA107 Mobility outside EU

Erasmus + ICM (KA 171) offers students and staff of program and partner countries the opportunity to go on Erasmus+ mobility outside of Europe. 

Through the Erasmus+ ICM projects, students, staff members and faculty members of both institutions can visit the other institution fully funded by the European Commission.

Universities from program countries manage outgoing and incoming mobility.

Application process  - Incoming students

In order to apply as an ERASMUS exchange student, you need to be officially nominated for exchange through the International Office at your home university. Therefore, please check with your International Office about the selection and nomination process at your home university first.

 

Application Deadlines

  • Fall Trimester (Oct - Dec 2023):  

- July 15, 2023

  • Winter Trimester (January – March 2024)

- October 30, 2023

  • Spring Trimester (April – June 2024)

- January 1, 2024

  • Transcript of Records (official document from your home university showing all courses you have already passed and your grades)
  • Learning Agreement (indicating THE LIST OF COURSES you would like to attend in VSM)
  • Certificate of English Proficiency B2 minimum in any form (confirmed by the language department of your institution)
  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of Travel Insurance
  • Copy of Visa

International Erasmus+ staff for teaching/training must be nominated via e-mail by their home institution. Once you have been selected by your home university please send us the following documents:

Language requirements

From exchange students we generally expect English proficiency equivalent to:
TOEFL IBT min. 76´;
IELTS "Band 6";
Cambridge (Certificate in Advanced English "A, B, C Pass"; Certificate in English Proficiency "A, B, C Pass"),
ELPT - Listening level H and Reading level H.

 

Health insurance

Vysoka skola manazmentu does not provide insurance coverage for foreign incoming exchange students or staff members. We recommend to Mobility participants to get their own health insurance valid for their entire stay in Slovakia before their arrival to Slovakia.

Except European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) we also recommend to have a private traveler’s insurance covering health care costs, repatriation and medical evacuation, personal property, and third-party liability for the duration of their exchange period at VŠM in Slovakia.

Participants outside EÚ must have medical and travel insurance for the whole mobility period, with at least the following items covered: Medical care,  Repatriation or medicalized transportation of ill or injured persons, Transport of Mortal Remains, Private Civil Liability Insurance. 


Visa

Since the Slovak Republic is a full member of the European Union, international students coming from EU countries do not need visa. Students from non-EU countries will need a visa for arranging a stay and entry to Slovak Republic. Information about visa policy in Slovak republic can be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic: http://www.foreign.gov.sk/en/consular_info/visa

If you stay in Slovakia more than 90 days in one half-year you must apply for Temporary Residence Permit. The application is to be submitted in person at the Slovak Embassy or Consulate in your home country or at the Foreign Police Office after your arrival. Check with the Slovak Embassy or Consulate what documents are necessary for the application. In order to allow enough time for processing of Visa/Temporary Residence Permit application apply at least 3 months before your planned arrival to Slovakia.
